High above the coastline in Benitatxell, Spain, Casa L5 was designed to focus on one thing: the Mediterranean horizon. Architect Pasqual Giner Arquitectura and interior design studio Aunon Cabrera created a home where architecture, interiors, and materials work together in one clear idea.
From the first moment inside, the house directs attention outward. The sea becomes part of daily life, shaping how the rooms open, how light moves through the space, and how the architecture meets the landscape.

White Planes and Stone Bases Shape the Architecture
Casa L5 is composed through a simple but striking structure of white horizontal planes placed over natural stone plinths. This composition balances visual lightness with a strong connection to the ground.
The white volumes appear to hover above the stone base, allowing the house to settle into the terrain. Overhangs and cantilevers extend outward, controlling sunlight while deepening the architectural lines that define the exterior.

Living Spaces That Keep the Horizon in View
Inside the main living spaces, the connection to the sea becomes constant. Large windows draw the horizon into the room. Natural light moves through the interior throughout the day, shaping how the spaces feel and how the materials are perceived.
The furniture is arranged to face the fireplace, while a sitting area is located on the other side of the fireplace.

A Kitchen That Flows Seamlessly With the Interior
The kitchen follows the same design language found throughout the house. Materials, finishes, and furniture work together in a calm and consistent palette. Rather than acting as a separate space, the kitchen participates in the open spatial flow of the interior.

Dining Beside the Mediterranean Horizon
Adjacent to the living room and kitchen, the dining area, with its wood table and stone accent wall, continues the outward orientation of the house.
Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors maintain uninterrupted views of the sea, keeping the horizon present even while indoors.

Outdoor Living That Extends Toward the Sea
Outdoor spaces, like the patio, outdoor kitchen, and infinity pool, extend the interior living areas toward the Mediterranean, while steps and low stone walls lead down to the garden.

A Sculptural Staircase at the Heart of the Home
Back inside and by the entryway, a sculptural wood and glass staircase rises within a double height foyer, shaping the vertical experience of the interior.

Bedrooms Defined by Light and Calm Materials
The bedrooms maintain the same calm material palette found throughout the house. In this bedroom, the bed is positioned in the center of the room, with the headboard creating a path around the room to access the built-in closets.

Stone, Light, and a Quiet Bathroom Atmosphere
In a bathroom, stone surfaces add density and texture while natural light softens the space. Wood accents can be found in the floating vanity and built-in shelving, and the freestanding bathtub optimized for views by being positioned by the corner window.

For Casa L5, architecture, interiors, and materials align around a single idea, allowing the Mediterranean landscape to remain the true focal point of the home.
