This coastal home by ArchiBlox shows how thoughtful design and sustainable building can come together in a short timeframe. Completed in just six weeks, the two-bedroom residence combines modern comfort with eco-friendly features, all while embracing its stunning seaside location.
The house was prefabricated offsite and then transported to its final location, reducing disruption to the landscape. Its exterior is wrapped in FSC-certified blackbutt hardwood timber, sourced from sustainable forestry methods, giving the home a natural yet durable finish that weathers beautifully in a coastal environment.

One of the standout features is the living green roof. Not only does it reduce rainwater runoff and shield the home from excess heat, but it also functions as thermal mass, helping regulate interior temperatures. Combined with double insulation and clever east-west orientation for cross ventilation, the home minimizes the need for artificial cooling while staying naturally comfortable year-round.

A generous front porch extends around to the back, where it frames views of the ocean. Elevated on structural posts, the home touches the sloping site lightly, creating the feeling of a floating structure perched above the beach below.

Inside, the layout is compact but highly efficient. The living room is anchored by custom cabinetry that blends shelving, storage, and a built-in desk, offering both function and style.

The kitchen makes a bold design statement in deep blue, balanced with bright white countertops and accented by lively pops of orange that add warmth and energy to the space.

In the bathroom, a soaking tub is placed beside a large picture window, allowing uninterrupted views of the beach and ocean while you relax. It’s a feature that connects daily rituals with the beauty of the natural surroundings.

And of course, no beach house would be complete without space for surfboards. The design accommodates this essential coastal lifestyle detail, ensuring the home feels both polished and practical.

This prefab beach house demonstrates that good design doesn’t have to be oversized to make an impact. With smart use of space, sustainable materials, and a connection to its site, ArchiBlox created a coastal escape that feels both modern and timeless.
