For the 2023 – 2024 design competition, there were 1642 Winners from 114 countries in 151 different design disciplines. Let’s have a look at a selection of the winners…

Tau Murano Small Table by Tulczinsky

Tau Murano was born from the long collaboration between Reflex and the masters who preserve the ancient traditions of Venetian glass art. It combines a coffee table and a decorative object, creating an elegant and nostalgic vibe that can be used to beautify any environment, without being restricted to a specific area of the house.

Spirito Table Lamp by Alexey Danilin

The stylized silhouette of the classic table lamp resembles a magic ball or cast. The lamp resembles a levitating object, its upper ceiling is filled with light, although wires or metal reinforcement do not lead to it. It also feels airy thanks to a transparent silhouette of blown glass.

Nanbu Eye Gymnasium by Li Yang and Xu Haifeng

Located by the Jialing River, this gymnasium achieves harmony, openness, and interaction with nature. The overall project is conceived as an earthscape, just like a picture scroll, while city and nature are merged, with the architecture and landscape combined creating a continuous spatial sequence formed along the waterfront.

The inspirational narrative of designer Li Xiang is about protecting endangered wildlife, utilizing abstract mechanical styles to recreate supernatural landscapes and vibrant colors and animal imagery, to conjure a revival of all living things, an animated and dynamic amusement journey.

Woyun Platform Public Building by Archermit

This public building in China features a white ‘bamboo forest’ at the bottom, which is the foundation of the ‘clouds’, while the “bamboo forest” on the ground floor is used as a rural living room.

One Line Studio Architectural Office by Tim Politis

Inspired by the surrounding mountain peaks, the soaring elevation frames its natural setting composed of wetland vegetation, natural grasses, and woodlands. An interior atmosphere is delineated between a timber wall and a curtain of suspended glass, thinly veiling the threshold between inside and outside.

Bangkok Pendant Lamp by Alexey Danilin

Since the tiered design of Thai architecture was taken as the basis of the shape, the lamps have been designed with two or three glass elements. LED boards covered with matte diffusers were used at the top and bottom in order to create diffuse soft lighting.

Artifact is a speakeasy bar hidden behind a secret passage inside BaseHall, Hong Kong’s newest dining destination and luxury food hall in the heart of Central. The interior is inspired by the rhythm and repetition of surreal geometry and the serene atmospheres found in underground cistern.

Royan Sofa by Esmail Ghadrdani

The Royan sofa is inspired by the letters of the Nasta’liq calligraphy. The unique curves and forms of this style have made it visually pleasing and can be used for sitting on both sides or around it. It also has space for placing books and flowers, providing a unique experience for the user.

Cenear Bench by Christine Xiang

The tea garden, with its curves and evocative history, served as the initial inspiration for the Cenear Bench. It has been designed to encourage conversation among users, with its defining feature being the implementation of two differently shaped cushions attached to the wooden frame, providing options for individualized seating preferences.

Spidique Chair by Siqi Yang

Spidique is a chair manufactured using 3D printing technology. Its shape calculation and design were carried out using the Ameba software, which employs the BESO (Bidirectional Evolutionary Structural Optimization) algorithm for topological optimization.
