Set along the edge of a wooded site in Mirabel, Du Corail Residence combines contemporary architecture with warm interior design across three levels. Designed by Entre Quatre Murs, the home brings together natural stone, wood, and expansive glazing to create bright, open living spaces connected to the surrounding landscape.
A Warm Welcome Framed by Stone and Wood
The entry sequence immediately introduces the home’s material palette. Stone surfaces continue inward from the exterior, creating a seamless arrival experience that feels substantial without becoming heavy.
The scale of the entry also hints at what unfolds beyond it. Sightlines extend toward the open living spaces, giving the first glimpse of the home’s layered interior architecture and strong visual connection between floors.

An Open Living Space Filled With Natural Light
The living room sits at the center of the main floor, with expansive glazing that fills the space with shifting natural light throughout the day. Large openings frame views of the surrounding trees, helping the interior feel visually open while reinforcing the connection to the wooded property outside.
Wood-lined ceilings add warmth above the more restrained stone and glass surfaces, giving the oversized volume a comfortable atmosphere despite its scale. The open layout also allows the living room to flow directly into the kitchen and dining area, creating uninterrupted sightlines across the main living spaces. Every element feels intentionally restrained, allowing the architecture, textures, and changing light to become the focus.

A Quiet Workspace With Forest Views
Positioned on the other side of the double-sided fireplace in the living room, the home office feels calm and visually open, with glass walls keeping it bright and connected to the other interior spaces.

A Dining Space Surrounded by Light and Views
The dining area sits within the open-plan main floor, positioned between near the kitchen and the wine room. Generous windows surround the space, making daylight one of the defining features of the room. The openness also allows uninterrupted views across the living spaces, helping the home feel cohesive from every angle.

A Sculptural Kitchen With Warm Modern Finishes
The kitchen combines pale grey cabinetry, natural wood, black detailing, and pale quartz countertops in a palette that feels clean but inviting. Designed in collaboration with the homeowners, the space balances functionality with sculptural simplicity.
Large surfaces and integrated storage keep the kitchen visually streamlined, while the contrast between lighter finishes and darker accents adds depth.

The Glass Wine Room That Defines the Main Floor
One of the most striking spaces in the house is the fully glazed corner wine room positioned between the kitchen and dining area. More than simple storage, the space acts like a sculptural installation within the home.
Glass walls preserve openness across the main floor while displaying the wine collection almost like a library. The transparency also allows light to pass through freely, preventing the feature from feeling enclosed or visually heavy despite its strong architectural presence.

A Floating Staircase Connecting Every Level
A suspended staircase travels through all three levels of the residence, visually linking the entire home together. Framed with a glass balustrade, the staircase appears almost weightless from certain angles. Its transparency allows light to move freely between floors, helping the interior feel brighter and more open.

A Calm Bedroom Above
Positioned within the quieter upper areas of the house, the bedroom takes advantage of elevated views toward the surrounding canopy. The space continues the home’s use of warm wood tones and modern finishes, creating an atmosphere that feels soft and uncluttered.
Natural light shifts throughout the day across the material palette, bringing subtle variation to the room without the need for excessive decoration, while the windows look over the living area below.

Custom Closets Designed for Everyday Function
Custom-designed walk-in closets continue the project’s tailored approach to interior design. Integrated storage solutions keep the spaces highly functional while maintaining the clean visual language seen throughout the residence. Built-in lighting adds warmth and depth, transforming storage into an extension of the architecture itself.

A Minimal Bathroom With Warm Natural Materials
The bathroom features a pair of vanities, integrated lighting, and a wet room with dark tile surfaces and a glass wall that separates it from the rest of the room. The use of natural materials helps the spaces feel consistent with the rest of the residence while still maintaining a quieter atmosphere.

A Lower-Level Space for Entertaining
On the lower level, the games room, with its lounge area, pool table, kitchenette, and storage, benefits from the natural slope of the terrain, with a line of windows helping the space to feel bright and visually open despite being partially below grade.

A Dramatic Garage
The garage is a dramatic moment in the home, with its black walls, ceiling, and floors highlighted by integrated lighting, making the car appear as a sculptural element.

How the Three-Level Layout Comes Together
The organization of the residence across three levels allows each area to serve a distinct function while still feeling visually connected. Open communal spaces anchor the main floor, private areas occupy the upper level, and entertainment and guest zones expand across the lower floor.

From the floating staircase to the sculptural wine room and forest-facing interiors, the home shows how restrained materials and strong spatial planning can shape a home that feels both contemporary and welcoming.
