Pastel Green and Natural Light Shape This Contemporary Clinic Interior

Take a tour of Think Health in Ponta Delgada, Portugal, where BOX arquitectos combines pastel green accents, minimalist details, and natural light to create a refreshing wellness-focused interior.

In Ponta Delgada, Portugal, BOX arquitectos completed the interior design of Think Health, a naturopathy clinic that uses color, transparency, and minimalist design to create a distinctive experience. Designed as a space for therapy and nutritional guidance, the clinic embraces an open atmosphere where visitors can easily understand how the different areas relate to one another.

Located within an established urban setting, the project takes a fresh approach to healthcare interiors. Soft pastel green surfaces, simple materials, natural light, and sculptural forms work together to create an environment that feels welcoming from the moment visitors step inside.

This minimalist reception area uses curved forms, soft colors, and subtle floor details to separate spaces without interrupting the open layout.

A Reception Area Divided by Color and Form

The reception area immediately introduces the clinic’s design language. While the space is open, it is subtly divided into two distinct zones. The first contains a curved reception desk paired with a wall-mounted shelf, creating a clean and uncluttered arrival point.

Beyond this area, the palette shifts dramatically. A soft pastel green defines the waiting area and office zone, creating visual separation without the need for walls. This simple use of color helps organize the interior while maintaining the open and transparent atmosphere envisioned for the project.

A line running through the floor and the changing wall colors reinforce this transition, guiding visitors through the space in an understated way.

Geometric Shelving Becomes a Feature Wall

One of the most striking details within the reception area is a wall dedicated entirely to storage and display. Instead of treating shelving as a practical necessity, BOX arquitectos turned it into an architectural feature.

Minimalist white shelves are arranged in a triangular composition that responds directly to the angular geometry of the room. The installation adds depth and visual interest while maintaining the clean aesthetic that defines the clinic.

Against the otherwise restrained palette, the geometric shelving introduces an element of sculpture, proving that even functional components can contribute to the overall design story.

Pastel Green Creates a Natural Atmosphere

Color plays a central role throughout Think Health. According to the architects, the palette was selected to evoke a peaceful environment inspired by natural vegetation.

The waiting area is where this concept becomes most visible. Small square pastel green tiles wrap sections of the space, creating texture while reinforcing the clinic’s identity. Matching furniture and strategically placed plants continue the theme, creating visual consistency throughout the interior.

The green surfaces contrast with the neutral reception zone, helping each area feel distinct while still belonging to the same overall composition.

Glass Walls Allow Light to Travel Through the Interior

Transparency is a recurring theme throughout the project. The architects imagined the clinic as a place where spaces could be seen and understood at a glance, encouraging openness and connection between areas.

Wood-framed glass walls separate the office while maintaining visual continuity. These partitions allow natural light to move deeper into the floor plan, helping the interior feel brighter and more spacious.

The combination of warm timber frames and clear glazing softens the clinical feel often associated with healthcare environments, replacing it with a more inviting atmosphere.

A Compact Office with Integrated Storage

Inside the office, functionality is handled with the same minimalist approach seen throughout the project. The rear wall is dedicated entirely to storage, keeping the room organized and free from visual clutter.

Integrated into this wall is a compact counter area complete with a sink and tiled backsplash. By consolidating these practical elements into a single zone, the architects preserved the clean lines that characterize the space.

The result is an office that supports everyday use while remaining visually consistent with the rest of the clinic.

Hidden Spaces Continue the Design Language

Even the clinic’s more private spaces continue the visual identity established elsewhere. A discreet white door conceals the bathroom from view, helping maintain the simplicity of the main areas.

Inside, green tiles line the walls, extending the project’s signature color palette into the smallest room of the clinic. This consistency creates a cohesive experience throughout the entire interior.

It’s a subtle detail, but one that highlights the project’s commitment to maintaining a unified design language from entrance to bathroom.

Hidden behind a simple white door, the bathroom continues the clinic's signature green palette with tiled walls and clean minimalist detailing.

Through the use of pastel green surfaces, geometric details, transparent partitions, and carefully organized spaces, BOX arquitectos has created a clinic that feels both contemporary and welcoming.
