The reeds, which are native to the land of Messinia, are used in a variety of ways, including wood-framed screens that are integrated throughout the interior and make for a low environmental footprint.

The reed screens help define the different areas of the bar and restaurant and add a shaded element from the sun’s heat.

The reeds have also been used to create woven baskets that scatter the open-air interior.

Lighting is another design element made from reeds, complementing the screens and baskets, and adding to the overall ambiance of the restaurant design.

In addition to reed, other materials include rough plaster, an industrial floor out of visible concrete, wooden constructions, and ceramic screen walls.

The only material used for the beach front is wood, in order to make the construction completely reversible and friendly to the natural environment.
