The Peet House by Studio Klink

Thanks to Jasper Klinkhamer from Studio Klink for sending us photos of the Peet House (aka: the Rabbit House) in Lelystad, The Netherlands.  Construction has just been completed on the house, which is the first built project from Studio Klink.

Apparently the minimalist house is very attractive to rabbits.  When photographer Lars van den Brink showed up to take photos, it was completely overrun by the furry critters.

House M by Marc Koehler

This house in Almere, the Netherlands was built in 2005 and designed by Marc Koehler.

Marc Koehler says:

House M is a contemporary response to a changing cultural environment in the Netherlands which is characterized by a growing demand for monumentality, solidity and enclosure as dominant aesthetic values to be expressed in the architecture of the private house. In response to this, we positioned the house as it were a wall between front and back garden, separating the introverted street facade from an extroverted garden facade. The kitchen, dining room, living room and office space are located on the ground floor in a continuous space which opens-up towards the sunny back garden. On the street side, the house appears rather closed and monolithic. Two volumes reach out from this mass in an expressive way, providing the entrance and the garage space, defining the sculptural monumental image of the house as seen from the street, creating an interesting visual dialogue with the neighbouring houses built in neo-classical style.

Fudomae apartment by ISSHO Architects

ISSHO is an architectural design office based in Tokyo.

From the architects:

The Fudomae apartment’s design makes the most of a limited volume while creating a comfortable urban living space . Each 18 sqm unit fits a living room, kitchen, bathroom and storage. The tight arrangement is transformed into a design expression, particularly through the location and shape of the window, which designates the placement of the bed and other furniture. The window’s angle and height corresponds to both the interior of the room and the scenery outside, linking the Japanese single lifestyle and the natural environment.

The Baltazar Residence by Public Architects

Located in La Jolla, California, is this house designed by Public Architects.

From the architects:

A small one story bungalow sat on a substandard lot between two nondescript condominiums. Within that small house lived a growing family with a modern aesthetic who wanted to take advantage of the ocean views their site offered while adding square footage. The house has a concrete base that rises out of the ground with a minimal amount of openings until the second story, where it turns into a steel frame with a glass window wall that offers a panoramic view out to the Pacific Ocean.
